Kate S.'s Story

Newport Beach, CA

He was a Guinea pig and he wasn’t just a number or price tag. He was loved and mattered.

He died alone. He was worth more dead.

Hospital Hostage

“He was bullied into treatments he did not want.”

My father, John, was denied phone calls and contact from family and a personal physician when admitted to Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, California. He was bullied into treatments he did not want- if he said “no” to any particular protocol, he was ignored and either given it anyway or literally ignored. One day he was gushing blood from his IV and was not tended to for over 45 mins. because he didn’t want the “octopus” breathing mask. He asked the one nurse who would assist him to take a picture of him in the mask to show they did it anyway and he sent it to his children. His words were eerie and defeated. He begged to lay on his stomach or sit up to help with the “pneumonia” (we never saw an X-ray). He could talk and laugh a little and was shocked when they said they were taking him to the ICU. He knew that could be the start of the end and his rights would be further denied. He did not want to go into ICU and begged to talk to his wife of nearly 60 yrs first, but was ignored and denied. A doctor called and said my mom had 2 minutes to agree. She did not. Meanwhile he pleaded and cried not to go and was silenced through sedatives and fear.

Poisoned

“He was placed on dialysis shortly following the administration of Remdesivir.”

The attending physician (known as a “hospitalist”) sat with our family and asked my mom when she’d like to “essentially pull the plug” when he was not in a coma (yet)!! Offended and applauded we did not agree at any time for that action. Ever. My dad was immediately thereafter isolated and ignored in the Covid ICU floor. He was placed on dialysis shortly following the administration of Remdesivir. We begged them to stop giving this and we were passed off to different doctors everyday who said no. He never had one consistent doctor or nurse who could assess his personal situation. We were denied access to him when he slipped into a coma that they induced. He died alone. He was worth more dead. They didn’t let us know how close he was to death. He was denied his religious rights and never agreed to the protocol he was given. In fact, when his wife/power of attorney asked for a different protocol, she was ignored, denied, or literally laughed at and told she was ignorant. This was murder and this was intentional. He did not and should not have died. He was a Guinea pig and he wasn’t just a number or price tag. He was loved and mattered. A lot. I could go on forever ….. and have so much more egregious information to share.
