He was able to facetime them prior to ventilation and tell them how much he loved them and how proud he was of them.
Such a waste of a life of a great man at age 42 and gone way too soon!.
The Diagnoses
“They started giving him Remdesivir without my consent or knowledge .”
My husband was diagnosed with Covid pneumonia at the end of August 2021. He was hospitalized with low 02 and diagnosed with Covid pneumonia. On Sept. 4th I was called in to discuss ventilating him as he was maxed out on high flow oxygen and his ABG’s were critically low. I am a nurse myself so I knew what the numbers meant if he did not receive the extra 02 support. They started giving him Remdesivir without my consent or knowledge and he received 5 doses before a nurse who didn’t usually work the floor told me.
No Visitors
His numbers were improving on the vent and all of his vent settings were being tuned down and he was holding his own 02. Two days before he was to be moved to the LTAC unit for less invasive ventilation his kidneys failed. We were not allowed to visit. I was fully vaccinated and was not allowed to visit. I was only able to call twice a day for a report and they only allowed visitors if something was wrong or they needed signed consent for something.
Kidney Failure
“The cause of death was kidney failure but Covid was listed as the cause of death.”
The family, including my 17-year-old son, was to attend a meeting about the next move when removing him from the vent on Sept 15th at 1. The night of Sept 14th the report I received was very promising as his lungs had improved so much.......the call I received the morning of the 15th isn’t one I’ll ever forget. Justin’s kidneys had failed and they wanted to start dialysis but needed written consent. My daughter is only 13 so she was not allowed to go there so my son and I rushed to the hospital. He had already coded twice before we got there and they said they were not going to be able to start dialysis because of how unstable he was.
Aiden and I were able to go in, only in full PPE even though they had already said he was no longer considered a covid patient 14 days later.......and we said goodbye to him right before he coded for the third time and they couldn’t get him back. The cause of death was kidney failure but Covid was listed as the cause of death on his death certificate. The system is so broken and my kids didn’t even get a chance to talk to him or see him. He was able to facetime them prior to ventilation and tell them how much he loved them and how proud he was of them.
Family
“I couldn’t be there advocating for him.”
Family should be able to visit and because I couldn’t be there advocating for him, they did whatever they wanted including giving a medication I already knew was too dangerous for him to have. I told them not to give him that and they gave him 5 whole doses before a nurse who didn’t know any better told me the truth. Such a waste of a life of a great man at age 42 and gone way too soon!
I'm so sorry for your loss. Made all the worse because it was murder for money. I hope (if you haven't already) that you will reach out to TX State Senator Bob Hall (call and talk to Amy Lane) to tell your story on his platform. He is all over this issue in TX. Also reach out to Former Fed Group and American Granddaughter to interview with them. People need to see that these victims and families are real people. There are likely over 800,000 victims that need to have a voice.
